Dear Dr. Rekha Ramachandran,
Shri. Aswany Kumar, Head of our CBR projects group had informed us, on return from Chennai, about the great work your institution is doing for children with Down's and also about your spontaneous offer of all assistance to us. This offer was confirmed with the visit of your team under the leadership of Ms. Sandhya . Inclusion of two physiotherapists Ms.Bhanu and Ms.Sindhu and Arthi in that team was very thoughtful indeed. The type of physiotherapy to be done to these children was demonstrated to the parents who were present at the camp as also to our physiotherapists and teachers of the Early Intervention Group. Arthi , as a gracious and confident girl, impressed all of us, particularly the parents , who I am sure felt less despondent about their children's future after meeting Arthi. A big thank you from all of us here. We now feel confident that we have started on a worthwhile project and that we will have proper guidance and leadership all through.
Your representatives must have told you about the camp. We had 21 children, 10 under 3 .Our intention is to have these tiny babies attended to in the forenoons and the older ones(most of them attend schools) in the afternoons. We have approached some paediatricians, all of whom have promised to help. An ophthalmologist was also with us at the camp. We plan to have the school working from sometime in mid July. We will let you know the exact date after it is finalised. We will all be very happy if you could associate with us at the inaugural function. Our idea is to associate the Paediatric Association and through them as many doctors as possible, so that more cases get referred to us and also so that more technical help could be got by us when required after the school starts functioning.
I thank you once again for your wonderful gesture, which has boosted our confidence no end.
With regards,
Yours Sincerely,
K.Neelakantan.
